Ideal for those who have completed at least one week on our beginners course.

Using the skills learned from Plastering/Dry-lining 101

Students will be left to their own devices to analyse the advance bay and work towards drylining and skimming as required to a professional finish.

The advanced bay represents a more realistic sized room and obstacles seen in real life.

An experienced tutor will always be present to over see safety, guidance, workmanship and questions if needed but working alone and problem solving will be encouraged.

Course description:

✅ Mixing plaster
✅ Repairing stud walls and ceilings
✅ Dot and Dabbing bigger block walls
✅ Mixing many batches of plaster and adhesives
✅ Skimming plaster board walls and ceiling
✅ Skimming over existing plaster
✅ Skimming around larger windows, sky lights, fire breast, alcoves and a large 4m x 2.4m wall

Safety Gear and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Trainees are required to provide their own suitable work wear, safety boots, and overalls for practical training sessions. Construction Skills Wales Ltd. will supply necessary PPE, which must be worn by all trainees during practical training sessions. Failure to wear the provided PPE or appropriate work wear may result in being unable to participate in certain training activities.

Construction Skills Wales Ltd. will make reasonable accommodations where possible; however, the safety of trainees, instructors, and others on the premises is our top priority. Trainees with pre-existing conditions should inform Construction Skills Wales Ltd. before booking and participate in training activities at their own risk.

    I’ve recently completed the beginners course and went straight into the advanced course. Definitely recommend if you are wanting a career in plastering & drylining. Rob is a great instructor, very knowledgeable, and explains and teaches everything in detail using high-quality tools.
    This is an excellent course, and by completing the advanced course, I feel confident to take on jobs by myself.
